Head of Quality Assurance

Tasks:

Coordinate quality assurance programs and formulate quality control policies to ensure the improvement of Quality, Environment, Hygiene and Safety (QEH&S) strategy and the support to the various departments in their activities, guaranteeing increased levels of service, efficiency and profitability by reducing waste. Ensure the consistency of policies, procedures and processes within the scope of the activities of Quality, Environment and Safety.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Assuring product quality procedures for the Business Unit and the local legal entity;
  • Coordinate and control the QEH&S scope of ongoing processes and projects, establish and promote evaluation stages and procedures to measure the quality standards in the various business areas;
  • Establish the annual QEH&S activities plan, ensuring the coordination of the set processes and activities, control deviations and implement corrective measures, in order to achieve the expected results of the area;
  • Organize QEH&S related training sessions and associated activities;
  • Management of all aspects of Quality across the business, from processes, projects, to product delivery, ensuring that the Product Quality Review is carried out;
  • Monitor and identify possible Quality failures in services or products design, assembly or installation processes. Analyze non-conformities, investigate root causes and procedural failures, and implement measures to avoid future failures;
  • Participate and lead supplier quality assessment and improvement activities;
  • Design, control and optimize the Quality and Control Procedures program in its control and guarantee all aspects related to it;
  • Support the identification of key improvement initiatives relating to Internal and External Audits;
  • Manage Quality KPI metrics and present findings and recommendations to the Management Team;
  • Drive key improvement projects relating to analysis of Quality KPI measures and the definition of strategic improvement measures;
  • Identify and assure compliance of QEH&S legal obligations, and both internal and external regulations, determined by the company's activities;
  • Ensure safety measures for the company’s facilities, namely fire detection and extinction, conduct safety drills, identify necessary emergency equipment and training, etc.;
  • Establish the annual department budget, ensuring the allocation and efficient management of resources available;
  • Assess, manage and develop the team-members’ skills and expertise, monitoring their performance, motivation and development. Evaluate their training needs, provide constructive feedback and promote their personal and professional growth;
  • Provide technical support for commercial-proposals preparation and contracts execution, setting standards and reliability studies of products and systems, in order to safeguard the customer’s interests and increase the quality of final outputs.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, preferably with complementary training in Audit Techniques or Integrated Management Systems (ISO and QEH&S standards);
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in managing Quality management systems in industrial environment;
  • Experience in audit functions in industrial environment;
  • Proficient in Quality methods and tools, such as Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Eight Disciplines of Problem Solving (8D), etc.;
  • Solid Analytical and Problem-Solving skills;
  • Persuasive and communicative character;
  • Fluent in English.
